Benefits of Anti Wrinkle Injections

About Anti-Wrinkle Injections

The most universally performed cosmetic non-surgical procedure is anti-wrinkle injections. These involve a course of injections with an ultra-thin needle into particular facial muscles. Botulinum Toxin Type A is the name of the substance that is used for the injections into the muscles of the face.

How Do The Injections Work?

As the muscles in the face start to weaken, these injections prevent any fine lines and wrinkles from forming in addition to smoothing out existing creases and folds on your skin, leaving your skin looking and feeling youthful.

What Results Can I Expect?

The presence of fine lines and larger folds in the skin are diminished and the anti-wrinkle injections also work to prevent new wrinkles from appearing. ‘Dynamic lines’ are the wrinkles that appear in the areas of our skin when facial expressions are repeated, and these are the areas where we see the best results. Anti-wrinkle injections can diminish wrinkles on or around the:

  • Nose
  • Mouth
  • Forehead
  • Eyes

How Long Can I Expect The Results To Last?

You will start seeing results 2 to 5 days after your anti-wrinkle injection, with maximal effect at around the 2 week mark. The full results will be apparent for 3 to 4 months, after this time the fine lines will begin to show again due to facial expressions and use of the muscles in your face.

The Anti-Wrinkle Injection Procedure

What Can I Expect To Happen At My Session?

You will have a face-to-face consult with Dr Kumar or our Medical Injector, and clinical photographs will be taken for your records. You will then move on to our injection room where the procedure will take place. The needles that are used for these anti wrinkle injections are ultra-thin to ensure as little discomfort as possible. Most sessions will take around 20 to 30 minutes.

What Are The Additional Benefits Of Anti-wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections are versatile and can also help with lifting the brows, correcting gummy smiles, contouring the face and eliminating excessive sweating.

What About The Recovery?

Anti-wrinkle injections are a perfectly safe procedure to have done when carried out by a medical professional who is qualified to perform these types of cosmetic injections. However, in some cases there can be side effects such as mild headaches, localised pain and also slight bruising, redness and swelling.
