Facial Surgical Procedures
Our faces are intimately associated with our identity. Our moods, our thoughts and our well being are expressed in every aspect of our facial features. Over time, the ageing process, along with the stresses we place on ourselves, can combine to mask the real you and we no longer see our true selves reflected in the mirror.
Please find some information below on the plastic surgery procedures that we offer, and for our non-surgical options please have a look at our medispa pages.
A brow lift, or forehead lift, can help rejuvenate the upper face by lifting the brow line to a higher, more youthful, position and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles of the forehead. It is often performed in combination with a facelift and/or blepharoplasty for full facial rejuvenation
The ageing process causes the eyelids to sag and droop, which in combination with bags and puffiness can make a person appear more tired and older than they really are. Both upper and lower eyelid surgery can have a dramatic effect on rejuvenating your eyes.
Prominent Ears – Otoplasty
Ear reshaping surgery, or otoplasty, is a procedure that is used to ‘pin back’ overly prominent ears. The goal is to achieve a natural appearance with the ears in harmony with the rest of the face. The operation is more commonly performed in childhood but is also successful in the adult. All incisions are small and well hidden at the back of the ear.
Rhinoplasty, or a ‘nose job’, is an operation that aims to improve the appearance of your nose and harmonise it with the rest of your face, while preserving or improving nasal breathing. The operation can improve a nasal hump, your nasal tip and/or your nostrils, and can correct deformities due to injury or birth defects. In the right circumstances, problems that affect breathing can also be addressed.
As we age, changes can occur in the upper, mid, and lower portions of the face – different procedures target each of these areas. The mid face lift specifically corrects the ageing changes of the lower eyelids, cheeks and nasolabial regions. The lower face/neck lift corrects these areas too, but has a stronger emphasis on the jowls and neck regions.
A neck lift is a surgical procedure to improve the visible signs of ageing in the neck and jawline, usually performed along with a facelift as part of a complete facial rejuvenation. Rarely (in patients in their 30-50s) where a patient has only sagging of the neck and loss of definition of the jawline, the neck lift is performed on its own.
Chin and Chin Implants
Although they can be used on their own, facial implants are often used in combination with other cosmetic procedures for a more total harmonious rejuvenation. The implants are usually made of soft, solid silicone or porous polyethylene.
As we age, our faces lose volume, particularly in areas like the cheeks, lips and around the eyes. Liposuction procedures can often be combined with volume restoration of the face, by transferring the removed fat to areas where it is needed. The fat is injected using blunt needles so no facial scars are created during the procedure.
